How it works
- Drop an image on the page or tap the box to choose one from your device.
- Pick a tool — Crop, Rotate, Adjust, Text, Draw, or Shapes — and edit directly on the live preview.
- Press Download to save the edited image as PNG or JPG at full resolution.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The editor runs entirely in your browser using the canvas element, so the picture never leaves your device. That also means there is no upload wait and no file-size limit beyond what your device can handle.
- Does editing reduce the image quality?
- All edits are applied to the image at its original resolution, and the preview is only a scaled view of that full-size result. Saving as PNG is lossless; saving as JPG uses a high 92% quality setting, which is visually indistinguishable for photos.
- How does undo work in this editor?
- Every applied action — a crop, a rotation, a brush stroke, a text layer — is stored as a separate step on top of the original image. Undo removes the most recent step, as many times as you like, and Reset takes you straight back to the untouched original.
- Can I use the editor on my phone?
- Yes, the editor is built for touch first. You can drag a crop box, draw with your finger, and move text layers directly on the canvas, and the toolbar wraps to fit small screens. Edits are still exported at the photo’s full resolution, not the on-screen preview size.
- Which file formats can I open and save?
- You can open anything your browser can decode, which covers JPG, PNG, WebP, and usually AVIF, plus the first frame of a GIF. You can save the result as PNG or JPG. Choose PNG if the image has transparency or sharp text and lines; choose JPG for photos where a smaller file matters.
About this tool
This is a deliberately simple all-in-one image editor for the edits people actually make every day. It covers cropping with aspect-ratio presets (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2), rotating and flipping, brightness, contrast and saturation adjustment, text captions with an outline for readability, freehand drawing, and rectangle or arrow shapes for pointing things out. There is no account, no watermark, and nothing to install.
Everything runs locally in your browser. When you open an image, it is decoded on your device and drawn to a canvas; your file is never sent anywhere. Edits are kept as an ordered list of steps applied to the full-resolution image, so what you see in the preview is exactly what you get in the downloaded file. Because each step is stored separately, Undo can walk back through your changes one at a time, and Reset returns to the original in one click. The preview is rendered at your screen’s native pixel density, so it stays sharp on high-DPI phones and laptops.
Typical uses: annotate a screenshot with an arrow and a short label before sending it to a colleague, crop a photo square for a profile picture or listing, straighten and brighten a phone photo, or add a caption to an image for a presentation. Because arrows, boxes, and text are drawn at full resolution, annotations stay crisp even on large screenshots.
A few practical tips. Do geometric edits like crop and rotate before drawing or adding text, since later steps are placed on the already-transformed image. Use the aspect presets when you know where the image will end up — 16:9 for slides and video thumbnails, 1:1 for most avatars. Export as PNG for screenshots and diagrams, and as JPG for photographs where file size matters more than pixel-perfect reproduction.
