Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. The images, the watermark, and the finished files never leave your computer. All drawing happens locally in your browser using the canvas element, so nothing is transmitted or stored anywhere.
- What is the difference between a positioned and a tiled watermark?
- A positioned watermark is placed once, in one of nine spots such as a corner or the center — the usual choice for a small credit line or logo. Tiling repeats the watermark diagonally across the whole image, which makes it much harder to crop or clone out and is common for proofs and previews.
- Does watermarking reduce the image quality or resolution?
- The output keeps the full pixel dimensions of your original image. PNG input is saved as lossless PNG, so only the watermarked pixels change; JPEG input is re-encoded at high quality, which may introduce a slight, usually invisible amount of compression.
- Can I watermark many photos at once with the same settings?
- Yes. Select or drop any number of images and the same text or logo, opacity, size and position are applied to every one. The position scales relative to each image, so a bottom-right watermark lands in the bottom right of portrait and landscape shots alike. The finished set downloads as a single ZIP file.
- What opacity and placement work best for a photo watermark?
- For a credit line, 30–50% opacity in a corner is visible without competing with the image; white text usually needs the lower end, dark text the higher. If the goal is protecting proofs from unauthorized use, switch to tiling at low opacity instead — a single corner mark can be cropped away in seconds, but a diagonal repeat across faces and detail cannot.
