- Why convert PNG to JPG?

- Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
- JPG is a lossy format, so the conversion discards some data — at the default quality the difference is invisible in photographs. Sharp-edged graphics and small text can show slight softness, and transparent areas are flattened onto white.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. All compression happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device, which also makes the process instant — there is no upload or download wait.
- Will compressing reduce image quality?
- Compression removes data your eyes barely notice. At the default settings the difference is invisible in normal viewing. You can adjust the quality level under Options if you need finer control.
- Can I convert many files at once?
- Yes. Drop any number of files and each is converted independently — there are no batch limits or daily quotas, because processing runs on your own device.
About this tool
PNG and JPG sit at opposite ends of the image-format spectrum. PNG stores every pixel losslessly, which is why photographs saved as PNG balloon to many megabytes; JPG was engineered specifically for photographs and routinely produces files five to ten times smaller at visually identical quality. Converting to JPG is the standard fix when a PNG photo is too large to email, upload or share — the one trade-off being that JPG has no transparency, so transparent regions become white.
Conversion happens entirely in your browser: each PNG file is decoded locally and re-encoded as JPG using the browser’s own image engine, so nothing is uploaded and the result is ready the moment you drop the file. Batch conversion works the same way — add as many files as you like and download each result individually.
