- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The image is opened and the captions are drawn entirely in your browser using the canvas element, and the download is generated on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere at any point.
- Does the finished meme have a watermark?
- No. The downloaded file contains only your image and your captions — no logo, no branding, no corner stamp. Because everything is generated locally, there is also no sign-up wall or paid tier gating a clean export.
- What font does the meme text use?
- The captions are rendered in Impact, the bold condensed typeface used in classic image macros, drawn in white with a black outline. If Impact is not installed on your system, the tool falls back to Arial Black, which looks very similar.
- What happens when my caption is too long to fit?
- Long captions are wrapped onto multiple lines automatically, and the font size shrinks step by step until the text block fits comfortably within the image. You can also nudge the overall text size up or down under Options if you prefer a different look.
- Should I download my meme as PNG or JPG?
- PNG is lossless, so the caption edges stay perfectly crisp — the best choice for posting and for images with flat colors or screenshots. JPG produces a smaller file, which suits photos shared where size matters. Since the crisp white-on-black text is the whole point of a meme, PNG is the safer default.
